This is the 2nd snow we’ve had this winter.  At midnight on Monday it was nearly 2” deep.  Pretty unusual for this part of Georgia.

Theme:  Newness.  In some cultures the dragonfly is a symbol of renewal and fresh starts.  In 2007 I committed to a renewal in my own life and chose the dragonfly as my symbol.  It’s an appropriate start for 2011 as well.

52 Week Challenge 2011

Knowing myself and my schedule, I know that I won’t be able to keep up with a full 365 Challenge - that’s one photo a day, every day for a year.  But I can make a commitment to post a minimum of one photo a week.  I scouted around for a few weekly lists online and found the following 365 Idea list which I’m going to try to adhere to for 2011.

What is GOYA?

A few years ago a photographer friend of mine came up with the concept of GOYA for photographers … Get Off Your Ass and photograph things.  Quit talking about photography.  Quit analyzing photography.  Quit obsessing about gear and film and digital and all that crap.  Just get out there and PHOTOGRAPH.  So one of my goals, both personally and professionally, for 2011 is to GO[My]A. 

I’ll be posting those photos here, sometimes with comment and sometimes without.  Mostly this is for me … but anyone reading is welcome along for the ride!
